Go to the stylist and get it shaped and textured. I have a LOT of hair, and once I do that it works much better with the products I put on it.

Also, learn to use a hair dryer, curling iron, and flat iron. Once you master those, even poofy hair is semi-managable (unless you live in Miami)

Using a flat iron would really help, but once you are using one everyday..you must use sometype of iron protector. One you put on before blow drying or one you spray on before you flat iron it. or both if it is really fragile. Flat irons work wonders but can really damage the hair if used everyday.
There are many types of products you can just spray on and blow dry or air day the hair and it will make it pretty calm. Look for anything that says "straight spray" or "smoothing serum" but too much can make it look greasy so start with a little go from there.
Matrix Sleek.look Iron Spray and Extreme Cream Textureline Straight Spray, Bedhead Control Freak and After Party....or the bomb is Tigi S-factor Seriously Straight Spray and Smoothing Lusturizer...but that is really $$$$
Hope this helps!!!

Aveda hair products are FABULOUS. I have extremely curly, dry, frizzy hair and these products work wonders. They are a tad expensive but they are well worth it. Since using it, I hardly ever get split ends. Also try using a any-snap product while your hair is wet before you brush or comb it and a leave in conditioner after it is brushed..... if you are still having problems, Zero-Friz stops the frizz and keeps it under control. Using a defuser when you dry your hair will also help to control it because it makes the air come out in a more evenly spread out manner.... hope this helps!

Get your hair thinned out. It will make a huge difference. My best friend is Puerto Rican and had VERY thick, huge hair. I thinned it out for her and it looks so much better. I also used to straighten it for her.

Have you tried getting a Japanese Perm? It chemically straightens your hair for a long period of time. Also, I recommend the CHI straightner! My sister has it and it's amazing!

it depends on what type of hair you have whether it is very curly or dry, etc. i have found by changing my diet that suits my blood type and then i went to a alternative nature store and spoke to a herbalist there and he suggested i try a natural herbal shampoo that is best for my hair and it worked...
