Okay, this is more like a statement then a question, but still. Explain to me what you think
Firstly, mankind created god... and man kind didn't arrive on this earth as a result of the "god" described in various 'holy' books.
The bible is clearly flawed in many respects, but those who *really* believe, choose to ignore this.
Why do you think out of the thousands of "gods" that man created .... why do you think your "God" is the *one* ... (statistically your "god" is as fake as all the others)
We don't worship cats and bury our dead in pyramids any more... those gods were false... why, oh why do you think your "god" is the *one* and all the rest are fake?

Very good question.
Though I tend to argue on the Atheists side of things, I'm actually Wiccan.
A Wiccans interpretation of the gods is up to them. Its one of the wonderful things about Wicca.
I dont think the god and goddess are the personifications of anything. I think they're simply the means by which our limited minds understand the unlimited universe.
I think the universe is made up of energy, as science teaches us. My religion doesn't deny that at all. In fact, we admit we make use of it. We also accept that this is natural. And, while the universe is much larger than we are, and we can't change the laws of the universe, the perception of deity is entirely up to us.
In other words, Wicca doesn't deny science. Unlike Christianity.

OK, let me fire some thoughts back at you:
You make these big bold statements without a shred of proof. You're just as guilty of presumption and flawed logic as those you're attacking.
Everyone says that the Bible is so "flawed," but they never offer any proof of that. Name at least five of these so-called flaws, if you can. And BTW: most of the so-called errors are directly due to poor translation and/or complete misunderstanding of the real meaning.
You say that man created the gods -- very true. That's why the false gods tend to have the same flaws as their creators. But in the case of the God I worship and serve, He created me, not the other way around. He is the all-perfect One, not me.
You also quote a bunch of vague "statistics." Try taking a look from the scientific viewpoint at the incredible balance and precision that it takes to maintain this world from a strict biological perspective. Creation does indeed argue for a Creator.
The fact that we don't worship cats and bury our dead in pyramids is a pretty strong arguement for the fact that those religions and gods were false. The fact that Christianity has endured for several thousand years is a pretty strong arguement for the reality of the living Jesus Christ.

God is all the same.... it's all about interpretation, I believe in god.. but not in the bible sense! I think God is an energy that we all hold inside us. God is life in general.. And most people think i'm crazy for this but i don't care... God is the Sun, because the sun is the creator of life on this planet... review the facts about it, it'll make sense. But, why does it matter so much to non believers if god is real or not? what does it hurt if someone believes in something or someone, see here's how i look at that, if someone believes in god and follows his teachings, and at the end they die and find out there is no god, nothings lost, nothing has been hurt. But if a non believer die's and finds out there is a god, then harm has been done. What if you die and find out there is a god, whatever God may be, How are you gonna answer him when he asks why didn't you believe? As long as you believe in something, no matter what form God may be to you then nothing is lost at the end.. just remember that.

you have no hard evidence that man created god.
as a christian, i realize that the bible is very flawed. that's why it isn't a very good tool in arguments.
I believe that my god is the one true god because that is my belief. that doesn't mean that mine is the only true religion. i would gladly accept a transition from christianity to muslim.
I believe that the rest are are fake, but that doesn't mean that i have any evidence to support my claim.
I realize that you are implying that all believers are narrow-minded. at the same time, you are an atheist.
Am I the only one that finds irony in this?
Atheists all shut out any possibility of a higher power. who's narrow minded now?

To the first answer.... The only evidence that mankind created god is the simple fact that the bible was written by man... and it is bound by man.. however.. there isnt ANY evidence that "god" created mankind.... what is the factual evidence that you speak of?
update... So I see there isnt any evidence of god creating mankind... I thought so...
reply to sparklesontheoceans: Okay I'll sum up what I feel created "all this" meaning (Life). Energy created life. Energy
inhabits all that is on this planet. I have read the bible... and I am always learning... (I do not shut out every possiblity) I have read many texts and even from personal experience. There are some good texts I can recommend you read (not to shove what I believe in but to share) One great title to read: I Ramtha. But you havent actually answered my previous question to you... What hard factual evidence does any religion have that a "God" created mankind.?
Im agnostic.. I dont believe that "one god" created everything.. I believe we were created by something...

Religion is about transforming our own mind.
There are an infinite amount of ways to do this, but most hold certain fundamentals: be good, love, be compassionate. understand yourself, understand the world/universe, etc..
A 'God' belief helps you achieve this since it allows you to envision a perfect being. This allows you to emulate/become this perfection.
What the 'God' is called is completely irrelevant except that a name allows for easier teaching.

I worship the same God as any other religion that worships one single higher power. Atheists always assume that Christians worship a different God then other religions, when it usually just the details that are different, the prophets and "holy" books for example. Most religions worship one God, the more ancient religions (like the Egyptians) are the ones who worshiped many gods...and those aren't very popular nowadays.

Bible=Inconsistant.
here is ONE of many examples:
Matthew 27:3-5
When Judas, his betrayer, saw that he was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, "I have sinned in betraying innocent blood." They said, "What is that to us? See to it yourself." And throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself.
Acts 1:18
Now this man [Judas] bought a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out.
did Judas throw away his money, or buy land? did Judas hang himself, or throw himself off a cliff?
EDIT:
consider this: if all errors are due to misunderstandings and bad interpretations, how do we know that the same isn't true for all TRUTHS in the bible? perhaps all "fulfilled" prophecy is just the result of misunderstandings and bad interpretations.

well, if YOU tortured thousands of people who questioned you, i'm certain that a lot of people would follow you, too. now, though, people just kinda go with the flow and don't like to make waves or think for themselves. that makes it a lot easier to keep a fold of blind, fanatical sheep who really have no idea what they argue so strongly for and so (usually) hypocritically for. think about how many battles were fought with both sides praying to the same god!

Okay, then WHO made the TREES, and WHY?? Is it Mankind's creation, too?? ...Need I go on???
LOL.
Peace be with you.
