My uncle is a doctor, and he told me that the best way to lose weight is to eat a lot of fruit and vegtables, drink a lot of water, and begin some sort of arobic activity. It is mportant to do something that you find enjoyable, or at least not too unpleasant, because the key is to do it consistently for several weeks or months at a time. Start with an activity such as brisk walking and don't overdo it to start. Maybe 15 minutes a day. I hope that you achieve your goal. I know that I always feel good after getting some exercise, so it's really a no lose situation.

There are no easy or quick fixes to losing a substantial amount of weight so steer clear of the 'lose weight quickly' gimmicks. Your best bet is to eat low fat (while also keeping an eye on calories since some low-fat foods contain a lot) and exercise. Even a brisk walk can do wonders. Set yourself small goals and reward each goal with something besides food. A two-pound a week loss is a realistic and healthy way to lose. Strength training with weights will help you to burn calories faster and replace fat with muscle. Keep in mind that muscle weights more than fat so if you see you've put on a pound or two but your clothes are still fitting the same you can assume it's muscle instead of fat. Make sure you consume enough calories per day or else your body will go into starvation mode and your metabolism will drop causing you to actually store more of what you eat. Good luck!

Eating healthy (Weight Watchers) is a great way to start. It teaches you how to eat the right foods. I have been off and on weight watchers for just about a year, and have lost over 20lbs.
Also Add in excercise... walking, bike riding, any kind of cardo to burn fat.
Personally I would have lost more (maybe even alot more) if I had just added regular excercise.
You can do it!!! It just takes the will to want it!!!

Become a paleoithic eater... though a lot of people think it's a hard one to keep to and never try it, it's not really that hard, and you can eat as much as you want and you don't have to increase your exercise.

I have lost 10 kilos in 8 months, and I haven't been as strict as my husband who has taken in 10 belt notches (he won't weigh himself so I can't give an accurate comparison - but want you to know that you loose weight).

In addition to the weight loss, I have had the following noticable differences:

More motivation
Reduction in Asthma
No more yeast infections
No migranes since I've been on it (and I was getting them about once a month before)
Clearer skin...

Research it if you want, though there isn't a lot of information available yet - "Paleoithic diet"

Edited to add: I have tried numerous other diets before with none of the added benefits and they were HARD to stick to, including: weightwatchers, soup diet, exercise, no junk food diet....

To give you an example of a day's menu:

Breakfast:
Bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms and fruit salad with a juice and herbal tea. (my husband has coffee with fructose sugar and coconut milk - he said at first it was different, but now he doesn't like the normal way at all)

Lunch:
3/4 chicken (sometimes only 1/2 chicken with a green salad). Juice/water (occasionally I'll have 6 nuggets from MacDonalds - but they are on the boarderline list because of the flour coating)

Dinner:
Steak, fruit salad. Or chicken curry.

snacks: nuts, dried fruit, sugar free mint, "well naturally.." (brand name - the only one with the least amount of added non acceptable products) dark chocolate, beef jerky (or any kind of jerky)...

The thing with this diet, is once you give it a good go, when you try to eat other stuff, it makes you feel sick - because our bodies aren't designed to eat half the stuff we do... Like when I eat something with sugar in it, I get a major head spin.. or if I eat something with a lot of wheat in it, I get a tummy ache. If I eat something with dairy I get a headache..

Oh btw; 10 kilos = 22pounds (which is what I have lost in 8 months with next to no effort at all) - email me if you want
