they are all the same size but they are different in respect that dvd players are made for certain regions! in the uk we are region 2 so if getting dvds you need to get region 2 copies( it will say on the back od the dvd case) or if your dvd player is multi region it does not matter as it will play any(check your operating manual for which region it plays) with cd's i really dont think it makes any difference!

cd n dvd r different disc.cd has the capacity of between 700mb n 800mb.dvd has 4.7gb.yes it will fit any dvd player from anywhere but the region on the disc n the region on the dvd player have to b matched unless the player is a multi region or region free player.if u r talking about a blank disc , then no problem coz the recording done on the stand alone dvd recorder should b the same region as where u r unless u got the recorder from somewhere else rather than where u live in.cd has no region but has format like vcd or svcd.most of the player can handle both.

they should work so long as they have region 2. on the back of the case or on the disk.
