preferably go to a professional waxing salon to get it done the first time to minimise pain, and any bruises, redness, bumps , infected follicles and ingrown hair..
if your friend if experienced in waxing and you trust her.. then buy a waxing kit containg a topical analgesic .. like benzocaie cream or oil.. and apply to areas to be waxed and wait 3 minutes before waving to reduce pain.

If you have a really low pain threshold you should only let a professional wax your legs. It really isn't that painful (I'm an aesthetician and do it all the time for clients), but if you do it the wrong way it can get pretty uncomfortable. If your friend's a professional and knows what she's doing then I say go for it. If she's not and you just want her to do it because you need your legs waxed, then you should just call a local salon or day spa and make an appointment. Waxing can be dangerous and damage the skin if it isn't done properly. It's not as easy as it looks.

Yes it is going to hurt - I have been waxing for 7 years and the first time is the worst. Over time the hairs get thinner and some don't come back so I stuck with it but it is not an easy thing to do. If you are really scared do a small area first and don't grow it out too long - the longer it is the worse it hurts.

Waxing is so much better than shaving, with shaving you get little red bumps, you can also cut yourself if not careful and it also grows back quicker, If I was you I would first get it done by a proffessional..

and another thing, IF YOU THINK IT WILL HURT IT WILL!!!!

sure it will sting abit at first, but really not as bad as people make it out to be, and believe me pain is nothing to looking fantastic...

HAPPY NEW YEAR.....

I have never waxed my legs for the sole reason that it hurts... A LOT!!! Only one of my friends denies it and says that it just stings a little. I prefer to shave.

It will definatley hurt but I don't know why you would want to wax when you could just shave. I don't think that it will sting. I would get my legs waxed by a proffesional not your friend.

Have it done professionally. My sister and I tried the home thing and we looked like fried mushrooms and it hurt like heck. It was a mess.

Professionals know what they are doing and it stings a bit, but not nearly as bad as putting it on too hot, too thick, etc.., which can happen if you don't know what you're doing..

Hell ya it is going to hurt. Anything that has to do with hot wax going on to your body and being ripped off with cloth/paper is going to hurt. Enjoy!!!!

I get my eyebrows waxed all the time. I am still not fully use to the feeling of my brows being ripped off, but I look so good after it is all over. The pains that we put ourselves through to look beautiful..........

Any whoo..........

Waxing is temporary hair removal method.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

i hope your friend has done it before and know what she is doing and how to do it.
Its gonna hurt hella bad. Provide her with ear plugs for your screaming.
im sorry to say that and im not trying to scare ya but i have had it done and never will do it again
it hurts the most when some of your skin comes off with it.
and it does happen! one of the bandages toke of my whole first layer and there was meat. it was disquisting. and it toke forever to heal. and i had to bandage it. and it was done right
it just depends on skin types
if your gonna do it
please really consider it done professionally done!
