Please don't take a chance on over the counter medicines.
I did it for yrs and all it did was keep me from feeling much pain but didn't take care of the infection and now I have a kidney deteriorated. The best thing is antibiotics and sometimes you have to rake them for a long time.I was on a small dose for a year but finally got rid of it.Of course then you have to treat a yeast infection from the antibiotics but at least my kidney is doing better.Make sure to drink plenty of water with or without antibiotics.

Usually drinking cranberry juice helps to prevent it from happening regularly, however, at this point, antibiotics are the only thing that I know of that will help to relieve the pain.
Hope you feel better soon!!! :)

AZO or generic substitute. OTC med that will help the symptoms. Then ASAP get to the doctor for the anti-bacterial that will kill the e-coli causing the UTI.
If it is a recurrent condition, then I have additional advice. You can e-mail me.
