I recently met someone and I'm not sure if he is just lonely and I seem to be filling some small void or if I really seem to matter to him at all... guys what do I need to watch out for?

Depends on how you define successful. For some people, a one night stand is a success, but for others it takes a lasting relationship to qualify as a success. All depends on what the two parties want. Often times, the goal is not the same and that's when problems arise.

Ask the serious questions - has he been in jail, had trouble with drugs or alcohol? Does he have a good relationship with his family? Does he do an honest day's work?
I met my husband online, there were a few issues which came up after marriage which had not been a problem before, but mostly I had asked the hard questions and got honest answers.I was a bit shocked that he had done some violent things he never got arrested for, but he is not like that now.After three years we are happily married and have the most gorgeous blonde curly haired baby girl. No regrets there.

That's a tough question. I've met guys from online who were just looking for sex, guys online who were good for short term relationships, and then I also met my husband online. You've GOT to be careful out there, there's plenty of nutjobs on the prowl. And some pretty good guys too. :) What I dd was chat alot, not giving out my phone number for a long time. I finally felt this guy was growing on me, so I hesitantly gave him my number. We became big phone chatters. Our first date was him taking me & my 2 new kittens to the vets for their first checkup. We started seeing more of each other, and we felt very connected. We've been married 3 years now!

well there are a lot of things to watch out for.
one1. of them is how he or she acts some times people act really nice then become mean for some reason
two2. some time poeple are so llonely that they talk to them self most of the time
three3. mabye they are just playing with ya well he or she your talking with may not but im just saying
and thos are all i can name so GOOD luck

im sorry i dont know what to look for --- if there is a connection you can feel it --- and i do know what im talking about --- my lady is a LONG way from me and we both know what we feel and sometimes what we think --- she knows i love her and i know she loves me
