I believe because He is my Lord, my Creator and He has commanded me to worship Him, and in return He will protect me from a day where all who did not obey Him and worship Him will suffer. It is like you listen to your parents out of respect and love for what they have done for you, since you know they love you. It is the same with Allah, He loves His obedient slaves and rewards them for their obedience to Him.

Because the one God(sws) says in His ten commandments, and continuously through out His Holy Books, not to take other gods before Him. I am a convert and was drawn to Islam b/c of the Oneness of Allah(sws). I don't understand why most Christians pray 'in the name of Jesus'(pbuh), instead of praying to the Almighty God. It makes no sense that we have to pray to someone else instead of directly to God. I believe that Paul corrupted the new Testament to convert others to 'his religion'. I think he forgot the first commandment.

peace.

I was born a jew, bar mitvah @13, born again Christian @23, buddhist 225 (I am now 52). I 'assume' allah is the God of Islam, their supreme being and THAT is why they believe in him, same as Christians believe in Jesus Christ and jews believe in $$$.

As I heard it in the early 80's... Jesus saves, Moses Invests, Bhagwan Collects.

Allah is another name for God. In islam god has 99 different names, each describing an attribute. So you can say if you pray to god, and we pray to Allah then we pray to the same god.
