I aim to be in the centre of God's will, to have every aspect of my life submitted to Him and to accept whatever circumstances He brings me to.

I serve by trying to be a good person. I still have feelings though and use them as best I can for good. I brought my son up as a Christian and as children do has turned out to be an atheist with a wilful non acceptance of God, the Church or religion in general. He is currently living in a house where the homeowner is a verger and I have never seen him so unhappy because of the double standards he encounters every day. Religion is not the be all and end all, and in the words of a film I once saw 'they are more like guidelines'. People really need to try to get on otherwise with or without religion, we will suffer, all of us. Have a peaceful and successful New Year.xx

As an ex catholic I can tell you that they serve God as little white wafers, with wine...
Sorry, I simply couldn't resist that one!
Actually, I see God in everyone and everything, and I serve God by doing whatever I can to make things better wherever I am. Whether it's mustering up a little extra patience or kindness for a neighbor, or going the extra mile for a client, or giving a buck to a beggar without wondering if he's going to get a drink with it, or feeding the wild birds in the winter, whatever I can do. As a panthiest, I believe that God is everywhere and in everything. Like Jesus said, "whatsoever you do to the least of these, you do unto me". Or Mother Theresa, "we cannot all do great things but we can all do small things in a great way."

Serving God can mean different things to different folks because God has eqipped us all with different gifts. You can serve God by your work, by taking care of your home, by taking care of your husband and children or by physically serving in a church ministry. Basically whatever you do can be done as a service to God.

To serve the Lord means: to obey the Lord and that is the supreme-assignment__ ever assigned to the servants of the Lord__ or the Muslims of the Lord. It includes proper understanding of the Lord’s Message of Monotheism__ and it’s positive application__ in every sphere of life. Beware please__ half-hearted understanding ___ and half-baked application__ is not desired at all. We are obliged to secure 100% marks__ in our obedience to the Lord.
To serve the Lord, also, means: to do nothing but Godly works. And__ the Godly works do include__ proper understanding of the Scriptures__ and to honour and worship the Lord__ the One God, alone. And__ to launch a lifelong warfare against Satan__ and to safeguard the places of worship__ and to build up the new-ones. And__ to call the people to Paradise__ and to frighten them from eternal fire of Hell. In short__ to avoid the wrong__ and adopt the right__ under beacon lights of Torah and Quran__ the both__ and that is the essential duty of the God’s people__ or the servants of the Lord.
The servants or the Muslims of the Lord__ always call to the Lord__ the One God, alone. They, themselves, do not posses any authority__ as that is the sole job of their Lord__ the One God, alone. Nor they, themselves, can change the course of sun-setting or sun-rising__ even, on behalf of the Lord. Their exclusive job__ is to call mankind__ to the Lord__ the One God, alone. And__ it is the exclusive job of the Lord__ to bless the people__ with the Lord’s generosity and blessings__ in accordance with their purity of intention__ and the nature of deeds. Whereby__ the people are positively convinced__ that there is no God save the Lord__ the One God, alone.

How *can* you serve God? Praying? Meditation? It's like buying presents for your Dad, he really truly doesn't need anything. Maybe just going out and being a good citizen and helping your fellow man where and however you can. Sometimes it's best to pretend God doesn't exist at all (IMHO).
That is what I do.

I treat others as i'd like to be treated. I try to be a good parent so He will have one less person to send to the hot place down under (if i do it right.)
I did actually serve a 2 year mission at one point in my life too so i think i did my quota of service so far as religion is concerned.

By helping people when I can. The religion really doesn't matter to me, though I'm not christian, it's just about helping others. Having people care for each other should be the most important thing any deity would value.

With a side helping of 'oh my' and a large helping of 'absolute tosh'.
Still laughing at the 'strive to be like him'. How exactly? Disappear into thin air and do nothing forever? Easy, I'm off.....
