My mg of Effexor has just been upped rom 175 to 225. I have started experiencing severe headaches as well as constipation, severe. Does anyone know what I can do about this and has anyone else experienced the same effects and what was done for them. Thanks

The doctor can give you something for the constipation. I didn't have it from Effexor, but did from another med and it was unbelievably awful! I had no idea it could be so incredibly unpleasant. Suppositories helped too (before the dr gave me the prescription I tried that) and you can get them at any drug store. Headaches aren't an uncommon side effect with a lot of psych meds and sometimes will go away after a little while as your body adjusts. I think ibuprofen and aleve are the best remedies for bad headaches.
My main side effects from effexor were a complete loss of libido and withdrawal symptoms if I was even an hour or so late with a dose (with the regular, not extended release.)

Effexor didnt give me side effects as you describ. Let your Doctor know .
