Not really, apart from some fools attempt to be the first company in the phone book.

An aardvark is an obsolete Afrikaans word (now erdvark), from Afrikaans aard = earth + vark = pig . They are a large burrowing nocturnal mammal (Orycteropus afer) of sub-Saharan Africa that has a long snout, extensible tongue, powerful claws, large ears, and heavy tail and feeds especially on termites and ants

The Dutch still use the term Aard to mean - nature (Hij toonde zijn ware aard. — He showed his true colours.)- and the above entries are all correct.

Aard is a programming tool to check memory use for C++ programs. It is written by Steve Reiss, who names his programs after living systems.

Aard tracks the state of each byte of memory in the heap and the stack. The state can be one of Undefined, Uninitialised, Free or Set. The program can detect invalid transitions (i.e. attempting to set or use undefined or free storage or attempting to access uninitialised storage).

In addition, the program keeps track of heap use through malloc and free and at the end of the run reports memory blocks that were not freed and that are not accessible (i.e. memory leaks).

The tool works using a spliced-in shared library on SPARCs running C++ 3.0.1 under SunOS 4.X.

In addition, it is also an acyronym,

this type of bear is found only in the highlands of of North East Asia...Only a few sightings have ever been reported due to the bear living in terrain that is extremely difficult to access...

It usually feeds on highland goats, donkeys, mountain monkeys, mules, reindeers, fish and cows... Although this year 2006 alone 10 sightings of aardbear were reported but unfortunately no footage of the beast survives because on each occassion, the cameramen were eaten alive by the animal...

the aardbear is known to attack humans becuase it prefers our type of meat.
