Im well over 21and have just moved into a house. There are 5 of us living there, 2 are over 21 and 3 are 20. They are all good guys, students with great character. Those under 21 as usuall will have no problem getting beer without my help. For me to police them and tell them not to drink would constitute not respecting them as equals. Id like to be their friend and I do see them as equals. I don't forsee any major parties but a night of poker around the table or dinner party could shurely happen where we're all having a beer. Im not exactly supplying the house since they live there too and I don't need to buy their beer. Will johny law leave me alone?

My answer would be a law enforcement officer can site you for contributing to a minor, as hard as it for you,you need to think about the ramifications you would suffer being that you rent/own, your landlord and you as the primary resident could be held liable if a minor leaves the premises and gets into an accident or something else of that nature. It sucks because I'm sure you dont want to act like a prude but God forbid someone near you calls authorities for noise or anything of nature. Why dont you go onto your state legislative site and go into the compiled laws and go to the Criminal Code act and see what it says, or put the word alcohol/liquor into their search engine and see what pops up. Of course you could monitor their consumption but even still that imposes a risk

If there are no major parties, they will unless something happens,

If someone turns them in for underage drinking

If they get drunk and have a wreck and the police investigate.

Someone in the house gets loud and disorderly, arguement with girlfriend even in the yard of the home.

so basicly if you are aware they are drinking, and if the police can make a case you helped supply, ( I don't care if you did not) but if the court will believe you did, yep, your new room mate could be named BUBBA.

The term is 'contributing to the delinquency of a minor'. It basically means anything that assists them in breaking the law. In the case you describe, as long as they don't leave the house drunk and you don't disturb the neighbors, I doubt anyone will notice.

You aren't going to have any troubles with just the five of you.
