so theres this girl that I don't like but she likes me...I would like to be friends with her and hang out and stuff but I just don't want to have to tell her that i'm not interested because thats never fun to hear, plus I don't want her to always be thinking there is a chance...I feel weird because I don't want to diss her friendship jsut because i'm afraid she'll always be wanting to go out with me. What should I do? I don't want to hurt her feelings, she's a sweet girl

Get a girlfriend? :) You sound like a sweet, sensitive guy! :)

Unfortunately, if you don't tell her that you don't like her as a potential mate, she will end up getting much more hurt in the long run.

You need to make it clear that you don't like her that way and that there is no chance whatsoever.

Tell her you value the friendship and that is why you want to explain this to her. Tell her you know this is not what she wanted to hear, but you feel that truth in these types of situations is considered mercy.

You can always be there for her 100% no strings attached whever she needs you without you having to get into some kind of relationship. That is unconditional friendship and love.

If you're not leading her on despite not liking her (sounds like it?) and being emotionally honest with her, then talk to her about the situation, say that she's a great girl and you really value your friendship and want to be her friend, but don't feel the same way. Sure, it's going to hurt for her for a while, it could be awkward between you for a bit, but she'll more than likely move on and you guys can just be friends.

If you really want to be friends, just BE HONEST! There is nothing worse than being lead on, or thinking you are being lead on and finding out WAY later that the guy never wanted to be with you romantically. Just be honest! If the friendship ends because you were honest, you can feel good about that at least. You didn't lead her on.

Unless you're willing to tell her you aren't interested in her in "that way", I don't know that continuing to hang out with her is a good idea. It probably keeps leading her to believe that you have some interest in her. I know you don't want to tell her but it may be the nicest thing to do so she doesn't keep hoping for something that isn't going to happen.

Tell me again why you want to hang out with a girl you don't like?

Simply continue being friends with her and show her gradually that you are not interested. Show your girlfriend(s) off while she is around, back down everytime she makes a move, act friendly without interest and eventually she will get the hint.

well who said life was all roses. There are thorns along the way. Be a man and tell her like it is. Ain't no half way telling the truth if you want to be just friends.

Tell her the truth. Getting in to a relationship you know won't work is a terrible thing to do. Be her friend, neither of you can ever have too many of those.

Don't flirt with her, but still be friendly. Tell her who you have a crush on--it being someone other than her. It'll break her heart but show her that you still want to be friends with her.
