I am sorry your turd died. If you really loved it and think you can bear up under the strain, you should attend the funeral.

Perhaps you scared it out of her? seriously, she might well have been mentally ill or just going a little 'off her rocker' with an illness she'd developed that you probably knew nothing about.
If she had been a good grandma to you before that - accept that she had been a good grandma and go to the funeral. If she had always been a horrible old witch - no excuses you could make for her, then don't go.
