She wanted to be like God, but the scam was, she was already like God - until she sinned.

Eve KNEW that the tree of good and evil knowledge was not to be touched let alone eaten..because if she did her and the rest of mankind would experience death (loss of loved ones)
But the serpent Lied and said they wouldn't die.

I feel that she just became curious and was too trusting of the serpent.

Remember that had NO CONCEPT OF EVIL so she was not aware of what the serpent was trying to do.She just believed him plus she may have liked the idea of being like God

She wanted to be like God, who knew all about good and evil.

Adam was standing right there, like a bump on a log! He could have done something, said something, but he didn't. He let Eve take the first bite, and when "nothing happened", ate some also.

Wanting to be like God is not a bad thing, really, but they tried to emulate Him by doing something that He (God) had specifically said NOT to do. They tried to achieve the right goal by the wrong means.

Eve didn't want it. She told the serpant she was not to have it and he deceived her. Eve, being deceived then knowing what she did was wrong, wanted company so she enticed Adam into eating it as well. Adam knew it was wrong and was in disobedience to God. Thanks be to God, he knew that would happen and had already made a plan to redeem mankind through his son Jesus. So, the lesson here is that women are easier to deceive than men. (I am a woman, by the way.) That is why the new testiment tells us that the man is the head of the household. God Bless

Gen 3:6 - "and when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat"

Take back the phrase "good for food" and what the manuscripts say is actually "lustful to the flesh" and likewise, "pleasant to the eyes" translates back to "lustful to the eyes".
When God found out their sin, he told Satan he would put enmity between HIS SEED and the Womans SEED (their children)
and told the woman he would multiply her conceptions - He did, multiplied by two - she had twins, cain and able. What was desired of instead of knowledge is sexual intercourse. Thats what happened in the Garden - not an apple - its not written.
When Adam and Eve covered their sin with fig leaves was it a mask applied to their mouths? No, of course not, it was aprons to cover their private parts - the parts that engaged in the sin.
Satan, before Adam and eve came on the scene, wanted to be the begotten son of God - remember he wanted to sit on the mercy seat that was reserved for Christ? Satan appeared in the garden and beguiled (2Corin 11:3) Eve (beguiled means fully seduced) for one simple reason: Through Eve, womb to womb would come the Christ Child - Satan wanted to interrupt that pure seedline so that Christ could not come thru it except that Satan would be part of it - Obviously, that wasn't gonna fly, but this was why the particular sin was so serious. i realize most do not teach this - but it is the pure Word of God, and the original manuscripts will back me up on it. Hope this information is helpful.

She believed what Satan was telling her.
1 Timothy 2:14 says:
"Adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived. . ."
Genesis 3:5 states the lie Satan wanted her to believe:
"God knows that in the very day of YOUR eating from it YOUR eyes are bound to be opened and YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad."
She wanted to be a God.
She wanted to be able to judge by herself, instead of following her creator.
Satan made her feel she was missing out on something.
She most likely wanted to share this with Adam since she brought the fruit to him for him to eat.

God had wisdom. She wanted wisdom. She wanted to know what all the hype was about with this "evil." She felt like a sheltered child, always being shielded but desperately wanting to take on the world.

I believe that Satan convinced her that God was holding out on her and didn't really have our best interest at heart.

Kind if like he still does today.
