I don't know, however, if it is true I would boycott them, and I think everybody should. The most overpriced place on earth.

I'm not sure about this one...... But I did hear of the one where Starbucks was charging firefighters for bottles of water on 9-11 after the towers came down.
I'm not sure if either is true, but if you ask me, Starbucks is very over-rated. I would rather give my money to other "local" coffee houses than feed the big corporate monster of Starbucks.

Interesting story on the Snopes link. Glad to hear that their employees are making donations. Odd to read that their "corporate policy" forbids the company as a whole to donate. Personally, I HOPE that the Pentagon isn't spending the money for "Starbucks" coffee since it costs so much more than "regular" coffee. I frequently carried a 10 or 50 pound bag of BEANS with me to sea. Navy Coffee wasn't always the best, and my shop would have Kona each night. I boycott Starbucks just on the basis of their prices.

In addition to websites given by other users to confirm the "no coffee to US Marines" myth, I think that I should mention one very amazing thing that Starbucks has done: It offers benefits to their employees. It is for this reason that their coffee is often termed "overpriced."

I encourage you to do further research on your own and keep in mind the countless individuals that have benefited from the generosity of corporate owners. Most importantly, I think it would be good for you to read more about Howard Schultz, Starbucks' chairperson. He is one of the primary individuals who helped not only expand the Starbucks name, but also to provide benefits to all employees. Having grown up in federally subsidized housing projects of the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, he understands the value of employee benefits.
Hope you found this informative.
