I was wondering if it's possible to get toxic shock syndrom from wearing a tampon for 4 hours. I took it out and it was completely bloody and I'm freaking out!

It was completely bloody. The tampon was drenched!

I have a couple muscle pains right now that's why I'm thinking I'm alright.

not enough time for that much bacteria to grow,
if you HAD toxic shock syndrome you would know by now!

But to answer the question...TSS will not develop after 4 hours of wearing a tampon.

uhh no. you can wear them up to 8 hours. and it's supposed to be bloody.

it would have to be in longer than 4 hours---listen, play it safe.............change every three hours and when you go to bed at night, use pads - hospital size if you're a heavy bleeder

it depends about your body. i know someone who left a tampon in for a week and they were okay. Do you have the symptoms?
