yes. Teenagers have made it the new cool thing and it offends me because i know people that really do suffer depression and cutting and i know how much they struggle. when people think that it is cool to act like they have this struggle it is heartbreaking and offensive for those of us that really do suffer or know someone that does. Sure the "look" is cool but it is about so much more than just the clothes. It is a tragic fact of life and fakers are mocking the very people that suffer terribly just to stay alive. Oh and sk8ter girl i am really ticked off at you, you are exactyl the type of person i am talking about even your language that you use illustrates that you are one of the people that think they are cool for doing it. For forks sake try actually suffering what these people do before you prance around thinking you're a cool emo. You are mocking and hurting those that are trying so hard to just live. I am not saying that all emos are doing this, because some of them are real emos and suffer pain, it just angers me when preppy little bimbos think it is cool to act like they are suffering for the sake of being in the cool group. Those people are sick and totally offensive

The music industry has been selling depression for decades. They just made up the catch phrase emo to sell it to a new generation of teens who think no one else ever felt the way they do.

excuse me but i one of my best friends is an emo i'm not an emo i'm just a girly girl but she is right here and is so offened because she just had a family death and she is well depressed because it was HER MOTHER you have no right telling people that emos are rubbish what do you think about goths and geeks? Are geeks anti-cool?
NO they are people we are all the same and you have no right to label other people just label yourself.

ummm........I am emo and my friends are emo and I take offence to that. My friends that are emo, mainstream, and preppy all say, (that i am on the phone with right now,) that they take offence to that. It is a way of life and If you cannot accept it, than thats your problem and you need to get a life and stop posting your oppininated feelings on Yahoo! Answers. They are basically meaningless to us and you should keep them to yourself.

No i don't dislike or hate them how do you tell when someone is faking it? there is no way to tell for sure 1 in 3 ppl (something close to that) now suffer from some form of depression.

Don't condemn people for who they are and how they act many of them may have some form of depression. most people do these days.

I beleive that if they have suffered something horrible. (i.e. death related, or something like that) then they have a reason to be depressed. But all these fakers are killing me. They are really the rich idiots who act like they all that.
