It is rather ludicrous to call a christian a christian when in history and up to date hundreds of thousands have lost their lives because the disagreements on the topics concerning our Lord, hence the "hundred year holy war"...come on now. It IS ridiculous that in the name of God so called human defenders of faith can burn and crucify the innocent repeatedly. Even in the here and the now how dare the vast majority of self proclaimed christians call themselves the blessed ones, when in fact most have proven to be extreme in their judgmental hypocritical unkindness to others outside their church who may have a different flavor of worshiping God or have different teachings to be taught. Religion seems to me to be more cult like and with that comes the endangering of those species whom dont agree with the larger more rich and powerful clusters of people. So I answer your question with a question... Thou shalt not kill unless it is in the Name of God that I kill?

The commandment is not "thou shalt not kill", it is "Thou shalt do no murder" - there's a difference. Murder is when you lie in wait to kill - the scripture is very clear; premediated killing is murder.
If someone breaks into your back door and is about to kill or rape your child and you kill them, that is not murder. Same thing with warfare. Defense of your home, family, or Nation is not against the Word of God. Also, just as a further note, the punishment for Premeditated murder, according to Gods Word, is the death sentence. If you premeditate and murder, you are to have your life ended, and be sent directly to the Father for judgement, where the victim will have a part in it.

This commandment is not for Christians only. It is for everyone of us. You can also kill with words and dying happens slower. God can rise the dead. This commandment is to protect us, but we should not be scared of the ones who can kill your body even when it is forbidden, we would team up with God who conquered the death and can save your soul.

I think that the number is un-obtainable. No one can ever say how many people have been murdered in history, by christians or otherwise.

Too many times to count. Early Rome. The Crusades. The Roman invasion. The Salem witch trials. Slavery. Iraq. I guess it's ok if the people who instigate it are Christian and believe that they are doing what God wants them to do. Oh, and capital punishment too. "Killing is wrong (God said so), so we are going to kill you to show everyone how wrong it is".
