I was wondering if wine poured into a decanter can last more than a day. I know the intention is to get oxygen in but will the wine go bad after a few hours? a day?
I've also seen other QAs were people state that the only reason to use a decanter for scotch, etc. is for show. Are there no real benifits for using a decanter for liquor?

Red wine, to be absolutely proper, should be decanted around an hour before drinking. Wine, however, should NEVER be stored in a decanter. Instead, what wine you don't drink should be returned to the bottle. General rule of thumb is to not place more in the decanter than what you are going to drink, and you don't want to over fill your decanter anyway, since that defeats the purpose of decanting in the first place (namely, you want the wine to breath, if you pour the whole bottle in and it goes past the belled part of the decanter then you've just created the same situation in a different bottle.

To store your red wine, return any decanted wine to the bottle and tightly recork. Refridgeration is pretty normal, though not always. I normally drink red wines up to a week after i opened them (assuming no special rules, like for lambrusco)

As to liquor, there is some amount of show involved in pouring from a crystal container. There may be some latent advantage to oxidizing one's hard alcohol, but i'm not currently aware of it.

Decanting wine will surely speed up the oxidizing process. Best not to decant if your not going to finish the bottle in a sitting (unless it is Port, which can last several days).
Liquor gains nothing from decanting.

crimson wine, taken in smart parts, does look to have quite a few constructive effects. in spite of the incontrovertible fact that, a million/3 of a bottle (25 cl.) is as much as you may drink often. do not ignore, ALL alcohol is a great no-no throughout the time of being pregnant. I even have seen the outcomes all too oftentimes, in Africa incredibly, the end result's noted as FAS or Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. The recommendations harm is unquestionably undesirable to work out; curiously healthful young infants with thoughts like severe Alzheimer victims. That stated, thank you i will have a tumbler with excitement. Cheers!
