well I won't deny that must feel awkward, but I would respect anyone for dumping me before a holiday rather than after. I mean like how some women hang on to their men until after Valentine's Day just to squeeze more gifts out of them and then dump them? that's just low down and dirty. And at least he's cool enough to check up on you to see how you're doing. Some women who get dumped don't even get warning. Just gone. pfffft. gone, no call, no nothing. What happened? He doesn't say, so be thankful he did so with respect. It's much harder to dump someone than be the dumpee. Sure it's a buzzkill, but seriously it's not like he completely abandoned you did he? If you still value the friendship then do what's necessary to keep it and if you're steamed at him for letting him go, you should let him know at least it was his loss and get out there and "do yo thang." You're probably young yet, so there are kats out there far better for you anyway.

It's the oldest game in the world for young guys. They break up with their girls before the girl's birthday or Christmas, save money because they don't have to buy a gift for their now ex-girl, then they try to get back together after the fact.
The guy's dirt ... forget about him. He's young, so I'm guessing you are too. There are 'too many fish in the sea' to get all worked up about a guy who doesn't care about you and your feelings just to save a buck!

This happens a lot. Guys break up with a girl right before christmas so that he wont have to get her anything and then miraculously decide to get back together after Christmas is over. He's a jerk, make sure he knows it.

Question your relationship. Is there something else going on? Why would he do that? Maybe he isn't happy with something in your relationship which is making him question it.
Things happen for a reason. If things are okay and he doesn't tell you what the problem is.....maybe he is just a jerk that wanted to hook up with some nasty slut for a night. I would ask him what is on his mind first before assuming though.

You should act the same way he treated you and that is not like his girlfriend, soul mate, confidant, companion, lover or friend. What explanation he gave you for breaking up with you should be the same explanation that you should give him for not getting back with him.
