Gosh I hope not! I'm 5'9" tall and I wear a size 14. My friends say that if I were to loose weight, I would look way to small for my height. I don't think that a size 12 is fat at all. I think that too many people try to be a size 2,4 or 6 which for most people is unrealistic. If you were wearing a size 20 and asking if you should loose some weight, the answer might be different but at a size 10,12,14 you're just the average size of a female.
This could also depend on your age and your height. I'm 21, 5'9" and a size 14 and most people I know wouldn't think that I was fat or needed to be smaller. But if you're 15, 5'2" and a size 12/14 you might want to think about the possibility of being on a normal excersize routine as people tend to gain weight as they get older.
Don't worry, I'm sure you're just fine the way you are.

Not necessarily. In some shops their size 12 looks more like a size 8 and in others it looks more like a size 16, so I guess it depends on the retailer! Overall, I don't think it really matters whether you have a big bust or big hips as long as your waist measurement is not too big, as that is where the health risks lie. HTH : )

Oh you can be so cruel and heartless, what a joke. I have to admit there were a couple (well maybe more) of them that would fit my shape and size. Still funny though have a star and 10 out of 10 for them. I bet there are a few ladies viewing this joke that will have to be honest and say they have thought some of those things but not said them aloud.

Good Lord, I hope not. I've been wearing a size 12 since I was in high school!
I'm 5'11", I weigh 176, and I'm very proportionate. I am definitely solid, but if I lost weight, I'd be anorexic looking.
So, no. I don't think it's fat, but you do have to look at your height vs. weight ratio to tell for sure.

Size 12 years ago was the normal size for women.
Now everybody wants to be a 0, 1, 2 or 4. Twiggy or skinny minny.

It's "below" average, as the "average" size of American women is a 14, which is not fat at all, but a healthy chubby. Yes, I am biased as I'm a 14 these days.

Not any more. These sizes were considered rather large back in the day, now these sizes are just average and very normal.
