BUKARI: “the prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/bukhari/062.sbt.html#007.062.064

I have never met a Muslim who understood this issue or who refused to apologize for pedophilia.

THE ISSUE: Whether or not an adults marriage to a child (pedophilia) should stand as an example of excellent conduct for all time.

Muslims always respond with "back then it was common". This shows totaly ignorance of the issue.

In Islam, everything Muhammad did is the excellent eternal example. So every act of Muhammads will always be the standard to follow.

SO, even if it was common "back then" for adults to marry kids, under Islam, what was good for Muhammad back then is perfect for Muslims today.

However, Muslims, please help me out. When and where was it ever common for old men to marry kids? Kids marrying kids, yes of course, but adults to kids? Show me.

How funny that some Muslims say that back then girls got more mature at that age, contradicting all the science, that proves that today girls got mature more than ancient girls...it is called development of humanity..... now everybody know that girls got puberty or blood when they are teen. or sometimes before. but it is a justification for someone to marry a child?? NO
the reason is not the maturity of genitals as MUSLIMS THINK, it is also the mind, the thinking, the maturity of mind. because how you can decide I want this guy or not, if you are 6 years old or 9 years old... that's why we don't allow public drinking for under 18, that's why we have pg-13..

MUSLIMS themselves say that Islam consider woman needs approval of parents on many things under 18, and some even over 18. ... Muslims themselves consider child need parents custody... how come on marriage thing, woman can be given away when she cannot make the decision?? please muslims make real real understanding decision and condemn your prophet action. it is unjustified.

It has allways been very common. The european nobility ever married in their own class. The man allways much older then the girl. Most of the girls were given to the groom at an age of 12. some were traded like goods right at their birth. They could be sold and taken back anytime. If the groom got poor or could not be king, the treaty lost its legality and the kid was on the market again.
some of them were allied to 5-6 men, until they got old enough to be married really.Thats a fact. Anywhere. Anytime. Any culture and any people did it. There is nothing wrong in the fact. Because it is proofed by old documents.

Again, your futile points do not do anything but lead your self further astray.

Aisha the girl you refer too, was the Daughter of Abu Bakr (the first Caliph of Islam, after the Prophet's Death), he gave his daughter in marriage to the Prophet, because it was an honorable thing to do. They would not have had intercourse until she reached puberty. This was not the Prophet's only wive, the FIRST wife he has was 40 (Her name was Khadija) when he was only 25....

The age of Aisha at marriage is an unsettled issue, and the subject of increasing attention in recent years because critics of Muhammad who accept the majority tradition that she was as young as nine years old when her marriage was consummated believe this reflects negatively on his character. There are several hadiths (said to have been narrated by Aisha herself) which state she was six or seven years old when betrothed and nine years old when married or when the marriage was consummated.[2] Other traditional material (hadith, sira, etc.) suggests that Aisha may have been anywhere from twelve to nineteen years old when she married. This is discussed in more detail in the main article on the marriage-age controversy.

The marriage to Aisha may have been politically motivated initially, in that Abu Bakr was one of Muhammad's strongest supporters, and the marriage strengthened the ties between them.

He was also involved in defending her during the controversy wherein she was accused of adultery.

Aisha became separated from the rest of the party while on a trip, and was brought back by one of Muhammad's companions, Shafwan ibn Muatthal. Since she had been alone with another man, people gossiped and said that she must be having an affair. Muhammad refused to repudiate her, then received a revelation that four eyewitnesses were necessary to prove adultery.

Even though the marriage may have been politically motivated, to mark the ties between Muhammad and his companion Abu Bakr, most early accounts say that Muhammad and Aisha became sincerely fond of each other. Ibn Ishaq, in his Sirat Rasulallah, states that during Muhammad's last illness, he sought Aisha's apartments and died with his head in her lap. The Sunni take this as evidence of Muhammad's fondness for Aisha. Many traditions relate that during his last illness, he sought her company and died with his head in her lap.

Think what you may, the fact is you will never understand until it is too late. (Unless God guides you to the straight path)

Peace Be Unto You

The best way to get away with such acts is to say it was for god. Priests told little boys they'd go to hell if they told that they were doing it. Cult leaders would do such acts on children and say it was "gods will". Religion can make any atrocity either "holy" or "okay".

This has been going on forever. Since the dawn of time. Luckily we have laws to try to prevent this from happening now in most of the civilized world. Key word civilized.

It wasn't common for men to live that long.

And don't forget, Mary was only around 13 when she had Jesus. Was God a NAMBLA trailblazer?
