I have this freind who recently had pancreatits in April to June, was hospitlized and had 50% of his pancreas removed! He is thinking of using cocaine, since he can no longer drink! He will do whatever he wants to do, but for my peice of mind, I need to know if him using this drug will affect his pancreas at all! I know it is bad for him anyways! But my main point of concern is JUST his pancreas right now!! So any knowegable information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Cocaine has the potential to destroy whatever is left of his pancreas, which will make him Diabetic and dependant on insulin the rest of his life.
But you are right, he will do whatever it suits him to do, and he will pay the penalties for his actions, along with anyone that cares about him.

Asking if cocaine will adversely affect what is left of your friend's pancreas is pretty much "straining out a gnat to swallow a camel". Cocaine use is only a symptom of a deeper rooted problem. If he's had ongoing addictions (alcoholism? drug use?) which is what I'm gleaning from your explanation, then the real culprit of his demise won't be cocaine.

For your peace of mind and his, encourage your friend to get some serious help. AA is alright, but I recommend a good Word-based, Spirit-filled church to get to the real heart of the problem. My sister-in-law started going to a nondenominational Spirit filled church a few months ago, and she has radically changed. She too suffered from powerful addictions that were beginning to affect her physcial health as well as her sanity....she's completely free from all of that today.

Why go to a "Higher Power" like they have at AA, when you can go right to the top and get help from the Most High?

Be bold, but deal with the root problem......

The liver and pancreas are what removes toxins from the body. If 50% of his pancreas is missing, he could severely damage his liver, causing jaundace or cirrhosis. If the cocaine doesn't give him a heart attack, it will damage his liver enough to kill him, a very slow, painful death.

well prolonged use can cause aneurysms in the brain, It depends on how frequently and how much he plans to do and how much it has been "cut". sounds like he just plain out has a death wish! Try To get him some help and support!

yes it will.....it will also mess with his liver. Products like this are often cut with kerosene, and other harmful chemicals that go straight to the liver and pancreas....tell him not to do it....
