6 months ago i bleached my brunette hair blonde. It was ok for a few months but began getting lighter and did not look good anymore.I went and bought a brunette hair dye thinking i could easily go back brunette.Well at first it seemed ok but when i washed it ALL the color came out(my hair would not hold the color) and now i have a REALLY SH*tty mousy brown color that looks really bad.Plus some of my hair has broken off and i have a ton of split ends!!!I have tried deep conditioning it to get it in better health but my hair does not look any better!!! What can i do now??

I am an expert here Taylor. I did the same thing! Stupid wasn't it? I am having to "grow out" of the blond. I got the same idea to go back to brunette, for me it was a choice between turning red or turning green, which mousy brown will do. Get in good light and see what I mean for yourself. You simply must go to a stylist, and a good one, to get you back to your natural color and maintain your hair until the slow painful process of returning to your natural color is complete. You have to have an overall good trim and may even need to take quite a bit of length off, if the damage goes all the way up. Deep conditioning will help somewhat, but is not going to be a cure, because the damage is done to the entire length of the hair. You can also help by taking vitamin supplements regularly and eat a lot of fish and nuts. This will help to feed your hair. (Protein) Milk will also help and green veggies. I'm not joking. You can't do this alone. You really have to call in a professional this time. Happy New Year to you and good luck. Nana

To help you better understand what you did....let me explain. Since your hair was brown and your intentions blonde...the bleach has not only zapped your natural color but all of the natural oils that hair needs in order to be healthy, protein being the main one! You definitely need a good haircut. And a few protein packs. Usually the protein packs can be found at Wal-mart or a Sally's Beauty Supply (open to the public). Don't just get a deep conditioner, make sure the package says protein. You should use this 2-3 times a week. Your locks should be back to healthy in a couple of weeks!
Hope this helps.

Try getting a shampoo for perm or color treated hair. That will help hold the color in a little more. You need to get it trimmed. You might think "I don't want to cut it" The faster you cut it, the faster you can get it healthy. Keep using the conditioning treatments. That's what bleach does to the hair. It really damages it. Hope this helps.

Stop dying your hair. A lot of the over the counter hair dyes have lots of harmful chemicals in them, so try to find a hair colorist that uses products that are less harmful and uses color, not bleach.

If you can't afford to go to a colorist or want to try something at home right now, you can try to use one of those conditioners that have color in them. I would recommend Aveda. Aveda makes a bunch of different shades and if you leave it in your hair, it does give it a bit of a tint, so it might help with the mousy brown. (Like for example, they have one shade called madder root that has red tones to it that is beautiful and it would probably help compliment the brown that is presently in your hair).

They also sell hair oils. You could try to put it in and sleep on it overnight. It helps condition hair. I know that a lot of people with ethnic hair use it because their hair tends to be more brittle because of all the curls.

You could try a leave in conditioner...

Some other tips for healthy hair include:

-getting your hair cut regularly. this helps it grow and promotes better hair.

-If you sleep with your hair in elastics, take them out before you go to bed.

-Check out the kind of brush youre using.. you want one with soft bristles, so it doesn't break your hair.

hope this helps!

Her hair is prettier, by using fact she trims off the chop up ends. what's she thinking of? Is she attempting to create a difficulty wherein her son would be rejected as a wierd ball via all the different teenagers? i'm specific he's a effective toddler, yet teenagers are so merciless.

deffinately don't put anymore chemicals in it by yourself... as much as I hate to say to (because I despise the cost) you may have to go to a professional... if you've tried deep conditioning and it didn't help, it's likely that when you bleached your hair you over treated it causing the weakness and what-not. if you can't or won't go to a professional you should probably continue to deep condition regularly.

u should go in to a stylist and get a new hair cut....i'm hoping that you have longer hair...so more options are open to you. get it professionally colored...it'll be worth the money you spend instead of trying a quick fix.

Taylor listen to me as I have done the same... go to a hair colorist.... not a beautician... someone who specializes in correction hair color...

I would say its time to take it out of your hands. Go to a salon and ask for help, they're pros, they can fix it.
