Characteristics of a good man:
Is he reliable? Is he available when he says he will be?
Capable of earning a living and sharing living expenses.
Mature enough to take care of himself emotionally and physically. (Can he do his laundry, handle a set back at work or go to the doctor without prodding?)
Has enough experience and background to be interesting to be with. Does he have hobbies or male friends?
He should have a good relationship with his family which reflects how he can adjust to new living arrangements and keep up with people in his life.
Is he generous? Is he responsible to save for his retirement?
He should be independant and not "needy".

That's a hard one. I just got married a little over a month ago. I'm 38, never been married and he's the same.
What I was first looking for was of course someone who was handsome, had a good job, had things in common with...etc. The normal stuff every girl looks for.
But what I found was a guy who made me laugh. He's a little shorter then what normally dated, he's balding...and I used to date guys with a thick head of hair, he has a decent job...not the high paying jobs I used to look for. There was something always missing from the other guys I dated...and that was a sense of humor. The, spunk of lets get up and do something today attitude. So, he's not like all the rest of the men I have dated and failed. When I met him...my friends asked me what he looked like and I was ya know...I don't know. But he was funny...and I can't wait to see him again. We got engaged after 11 months of dating, 4 months later we were married. We've been married for a little over a month and things haven't been better and I couldn't be happier. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

i'm an extremely optimistic lady..25 to 30. i do no longer date with the aid of fact a guy is sweet-looking. i like a good smile with large tooth...that comes first with me. He watches what he eats and does not pass overboard on making a pig of himself. Respectful, manners and character. good wages and is conscious of a thank you to maintain money a good job the place he can climb up the ladder and not sit down on his butt. a guy that a minimum of carried out college or has some style of excellent commerce..does not ought to have an IQ of a hundred and eighty. I in simple terms extremely choose for a guy to be common, with a job and is respectful to me. somebody that desires countless the failings i choose for and is keen to compromise and that i'm keen to take part in the courting to boot. i'm alluring, own my own vehicle and domicile at a million time. I don't like sexist, arrogant or angry men. I like to be treated as an equal in a relationship. I don't like players or cheats.
So for me he would be honest, kind, trustworthy, calm and respectful. Oh, and witty.
Still looking ....
