Uh, yeah that baby is big! Think about it. The average one year old is going to be wearing the 12 month size in clothing. 4T is for the average 4 year old. There is a huge difference in size of a one year old and a 4 year old. It sounds like your baby is right on track.
Now, keep in mind that just because one baby is big does NOT mean that baby is fat or anything, either. My sister's baby is quite big for his age (we call him the Moose), but he's not fat. He's just big. Some people are just bigger than others. However, if it is a case of your cousin giving her baby a bottle of pop instead of milk, than the baby is probably fat and hopefully that baby's doctor has said something and they are taking care of things on their end.
Just try not to compare the kids too much. It's too much pressure on the kids and on you and your cousin.

Hmm..her baby might just be a little on the bigger size. My daughter is 7 months and wears size 18 months. When I was reading a 2T tag, it was showing the weight sizes for the average child who wears a 2T. My daughter is 7 months and was in that weight category so I don't know. All baby clothes are different. Its sometimes hard to tell.

my 10 month old is 25p-32 inches-wears size 18 mth. clothes without being big on him and a size 4 shoe, but the Dr. only puts him in the 50% for weight compared to height. your baby girl sounds perfectly average compared to other kids her age, and can still grow up to be a tall adult. sounds like your cousin is stretching the truth a little.

The child is much bigger than the "average." My daughter will be 4 next month, and she wears 2t clothes, and size 5 shoes, she's 36" tall and weighs 27 pounds, she's tiny for her age... Clothes are sized by age, a 2 year old typically wears a 2t when potty trained or a 24 months if not potty trained. It's as close as the clothing industry can "rack size" clothes for kids, but your cousin's child is large for his age, but as long as he is healthy, eating normally, peeing and pooping, and body proportionate, he probably isn't a "medical issue."

The child sounds big, but as long as the height and weight stay together there isn't a problame. My girls are bigger than the average size, my 2year old is in 3T and my 3year old is between and 4T and 5T, shes tall...
