differenet countries establish different radio frequencies that can be used for cordless phones (though they are governed somewhat by international treaty). So even though a cordless phone may work in Brazil, it may be transmitting on what Brazil considers an illegal frequency. And then you'd be in a whole heap of trouble in brazil, if they caught you.

Same as above the phone will work. I would wait until u get there and purchase one. The reason is when I was stationed in Japan we would have to cofiscate cordless phones because the ones that were brought from the US transmitted on the same frequency as the emegency units over there (cops, fire, and rescue)

The phone should work, but just to be shure you would be better to just but one in brazil so you know that it will work.
