Aren't we really back in the schoolyard, and there are a few kids who figured out that Santa is made up, trying to convince the others? Of course, the God delusion has thousands of years of bloody consequences...but isn't the debate the same?

God conciousness is real. Belief in God is real. Belief in God creates a feeling. These feelings create a behaviour. These behaviours have consequences. So God is real.

But God is a drug, like heroin. When Pentecostals sing songs about Jesus and clap their hands in a communal frenzy, thousands of endorphins explode in their brains and they get 'high' just like junkies do when they inject crack cocaine.

So, you see, you saying that God is not real is like saying that drugs are imaginary. Which is stupid.

Yeah. Exactly the same. We need to just grow up and realize that some children need to believe in Santa, the Easter Bunny and other imaginary things.

It is and it isn't. We know that St. Nicholas existed, but is now dead, and myths have sprung up around him. I know that Jesus exised, but I believe that he is dead, and myths have sprung up around him. God, however, never existed for me. I would compare Santa with Jesus, because they are both based upon people who actually walked on this earth.
