They gotta be there, but if they really aren't you have to rollback to when they were. How long has it been since you last saw them? If it's been like six months or something, then hyou have to reload the operating system. Both tactics are harmless to files you've dowloaded and most programs you've installed.
You could, of course download better versions of those games somewhere, but if you don't feel like looking the rollback should take 20 30 min. and the reload will take twice as long.

Yes you can reinstall the operating system or you can use the "System Restore" disk that came with your computer, it will restore the machine to how it was when you bought it. Before doing either one of these, backup your files on DVD or via external drive.
