Listen Cloe e, your not going to pin this one on us (Lutherans). What the English did in their own country, is their own fault. We pretty much admit to going after the Anabaptists in Muenster. But the Puritans? Come back to reality.

Because he himself hated women and didn't give a rat's behind if they died so long as they left behind sons for their husbands. Here are a few of his quotes.
Even though they grow weary and wear themselves out with child-bearing, it does not matter; let them go on bearing children till they die, that is what they are there for.
Men have broad and large chests, and small narrow hips, and more understanding than women, who have but small and narrow breasts, and broad hips, to the end they should remain at home, sit still, keep house, and bear and bring up children.
No gown worse becomes a woman than the desire to be wise.
The hair is the richest ornament of women.
The prosperity of a country depends, not on the abundance of its revenues, nor on the strength of its fortifications, nor on the beauty of its public buildings; but it consists in the number of its cultivated citizens, in its men of education, enlightenment and character.
