If you are questioning yourself then you are too young. You somehow just know when you are ready (if you ever are) - or if you do not know if you are ready know that you will be ready when the time comes.

In my opinion, as long as you are financially, physically and mentally stable enough to care for one, I see no problem.
As for reaching the stability in all of those areas, generally it takes years. So, basically, you need to be a stable adult, preferably married, but people do it without a spouse every day, it is harder, however.
I don't think teens are prepared in any of those areas yet. Many babies born to teens have health problems because the mother was so young and her body was not ready to have children yet (I have read). I am not saying every baby, but many.
Working at Taco Bell or Burger King is fine for a teen job, but it is difficult to care for a child while on that income with that kind of work. Especially if you are still trying to attend school, which you should be doing if you are that young.
Also, mentally, teens are generally not prepared for parenthood. I have seen girls become pregnant at 14, 15, 16,17...they were definitely not prepared. All of them relied on parental support. One girl even gave up and just made her mother take care of the child, she was 17. Then she got pregnant again, this time with twins. She now has 3 kids and is 20 years old. (She did marry the twin's father) She dropped out of school with the first pregnancy. I don't know if she got her GED, but she has no further education. Her mother recently past away, so she only has the support of her husband (which isn't much).
Teens are generally selfish, not on purpose most of the time, but teens like to go out and party and have fun, but you can't be as wild with children. They need you. I'm not saying that parents can't have fun, I do know a couple that have 3 children, they are in their late 20's, and they go out every couple of weeks on a Date Night, (dinner, movie, that sort of thing), but teens generally try to go out VERY often, waste money, get drunk.....
I'm just saying, it requires stability and readiness. Teens generally lack these things. Some Adults lack these things.
It is not a matter of age. It is a matter of wanting a child and being able to give that child everything that it needs.

Male or female it doesn't matter. The real question is Are you ready to be tied down? Do you have unlimited income? Children are a life time commitment, that means no more shopping for you, you got diapers and formula to buy. I know my profile says Curtis, but I'm Curtis's wife. I've raised 3 children. Just take time for yourself while you're young, enjoy life, go to the beach. My answer is no sooner than 25.

18 and under. If you are really serious about having kids, you need to at least have a job and an education to support your kids and give THEM an education. If you have a kid while you are in highschool, your choices are to drop out of school and live a harsh life, abortion before they are born, or adoption. It would be terrible for that child.

when you have your feelings, emotions, and your Finances all together....then I feel your old enough....until then, don't do it....life is hard enough as it is and bringing an innocent child into the world to suffer for the problems and issues you have yet to solve for yourself is wrong.....I was 22 with my first and scared to death....even though I had a great job, money in the bank and supportive family...IT WAS HARD!!!! Especially to give up the freedoms of normal life.....good luck:) Now I realize how I could have done things...but you live and learn...

I think that a person should not be a child themselves. If you are old enough to have sex than you should really protect yourself. Children are precious and they are gift from god. If a person is to become pregant there would probably be a reason!

18 and under. Before you have needs you have to make sure that you have a good education and a job and a place to stay and everything so that way you can support your child.
