I have no idea how to use curlers, or as a matter of fact curling iron either.
I have tried and tried to use them and they never work. I always make sure my hair is dry though . . .
I don't have rollers but if somebody can convince me...I might go buy some eventually.

after washing hair lightly towel dry and comb setting lotion though your hair then use salon type plastic mesh rollers and set your entire head of hair and either leave to air dry can take up to 6 hours depending on length and thickness of your hair or sit under a bonnet dry er for up to an hour,
roller setting your hair whilst still damp will give you long lasting curls that will last unil the next day, you could also try sleeping in your set so that you will have perfect curls the next morning.

I use the snap on plastic magnetic rollers with a setting lotion. I wet set my hair on the days I shampoo it and dry set my hair the the other days
First you section off your hair and always start at the top middle that's guide for the rest of the rollers. I take a small section of hair and start at the end of my hair and place it on the roller and start rolling it all the way down. Then I do the same at the top and to hold them in place I use the extra large thick bobby pins and pin the rollers together. then I do the back middle and do the same as I did the top then I do the sides. I wear 40 large rollers to bed every night, and have perfect curls every morning, that last all day until night time.

it works better if your hair is only semi-dry so it will dry quickly and maintain the curled shape you put it in. It will have almost no effect if your hair is completely dry. If it is wet it will take too long and not be as effective. If your hair is dry through, you need a hot curling iron.

Well i wash my hair and LEAVE IT WET when i put rollers on and then go under the hair dryer for like 40 minutes to an hour then i take out the rollers and blowdry my hair straight. when i do this my hair turns out really nice. But when my hair is dry and I want it curly i use a curling iron. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I don't really use curling irons, but if you do make sure your hair is dry, or it will burn your hair, but put styling product in your hair first, either a mouse or spray. and hold for a count of 20 secs. I frigin love hot curlers you leave them in your hair for 20 mins. with slightly damp hair. Like 10% damp and 90% dry, again put in some kind of styling agent I use texturizing serum and smooth it over my hair. Then when you take them out lightly mist over hair spray and it stays put all day. Hot rollers are awesome.

if regular rollers. wet your hair. you could even do it before u go to bed. and take the rollers out in the morning & your hair should be dry & curly. i don't use electric rollers. you should just go buy a 3 barrell curling iron. it works just like a crimper & your hair looks like it's permed.

They won't work on dry hair, I know that. If you have straighteners you can sometimes use them to put in curls. Or you can do what they did in the old days and wind it up damp in curling rags overnight - but the results are very curly! If you hat it in the morning you'lll have to wash your hair again to ge them to drop out.
