You are in the healthy weight range, however, since you asked, I will answer. The best way to lose weight is to expend more energy than you take in, causing an imbalance in energy input/output, which causes your body to burn fat to make up the difference. The same thing happens in reverse when you gain weight. The best way to decrease your caloric intake is to eat less red meat, deserts, fatty foods, and the like. However, this doesn't mean skipping meals. I am a 16 year old 6' 1" 160 pound male. I eat quite a lot of food, but I balance out my caloric intake by expending it through martial arts. I go to my karate classes 6 days a week, and teach karate as well, which is more draining energywise than you can imagine. Cardiovascular activity such as jogging, martial arts, or biking can help greatly in burning calories. Anything that activates large muscle groups repeatedly for long periods of time counts as cardiovascular activity. This includes brisk walking, basketball, tennis, and the like. Excercise doesn't have to be something you hate. It can become an enjoyable activity that you can't imagine living without. Have a good day.

EDIT: Oh, right, you also don't have to buy any equipment, unless you want to buy free weights. Those are the only items I would ever recommend buying. With a machine, you get the excercise of the muscles lifting the weight. With free weights, the muscles that have to balance you, such as hip muscles, abdominal muscles, and back muscles, also get a workout, which is a huge advantage. Plus, they cost less!

You definitely shouldn't be losing weight to impress some guy. If you're going to lose weight it should be for yourself and it should be what you want to do. Anyhow, if you want to lose weight the obvious solution is to exercise and eat right. Exercise at least 4 times a week for a half an hour and eat healthy. That means only eat things that you would naturally find. No soda, no candy, no processed foods. It sounds a lot easier than it actually is but good luck!

Well, DO NOT STARVE YOURSELF! Then, the next time you eat, the body will keep it on cuz it will think thats how much you're getting in that time span, and you'll end up w/ more weight. The best thing to do is exercises that works ur abs. Who cares about weight, u just need to look gud 4 this guy. He is not going to say- "GET ON A SCALE!" But exercise on ur abs and thighs and lay off the junk foods.
