It's only the catholic god. I think he's into knee strength.

The position of being on one's knees before a person or being of greater power is one of reverence. It's akin to a bow or curtsy before a monarch or even a martial arts instructor.

As it relates to a higher power, it's a simple acknowledgement that someone is at the top and it's not you.

It seems that people in society today are terrified of humility.

It's a show of respect. We are humbling ourselves in God's presence. I know, I know, God is everywhere so shouldn't we be genuflecting all the time? Yes, but we should let our actions do the "talking" for us.

Only the Vatican CULT do that..

True Christians have THE GOD that does NOT require genuflection or even self Flagellation!

It is a sign of respect for Him.

When you stand before God on the day of Judgment, you, too, will bow down before Him.

That include you as well Don (of whynotaskdon fame)

One must show proper obeisance to the gods for they can crush you. So basically it's just cause, ya know?

My God doesn't care about my body positions. It's all about my brain and IT's "position". I was raised Catholic - and there were a lot of body positions involved. It was pretty silly.
