why not age is only a number. i am a freshman and my bf is a senior. i don't see a problem with that if you like him and he is respectful then why not.

Well i will put it to you this way cause I have been in the exact situation. I am now 18 and my boyfriend is 20 almost 21, but the point is that we love each other. I know that you may be young but I think that if you like this boy then tell him. Just ask him to come over one day to meet your parents.
Tip: If one of you parents like him then he's in...
And to all you up tight parents who won't let you children date; As long as you say No someone will tell them YES. I am a girl and I am talking from first hand experience.

He has to gain your parent trust that is very important! I have a 15 year old daughter i don't like the idea cause you will be distracted from your school work ,but i will allow it i would have to meet his parent, make sure that he's a good kid to be involved in my princess life and visits?? he would have to come to the house to see you until i know him well enough to let her go out in public with him! enjoy life girl!! DON'T rush it!! You have all your life to date later when you are more mature and guys won't be able to play you and use you.

If I were in your shoes, I would want my parents to understand my position and my decision to avoid sex and would hope they would respect that and trust me. Seriously.
However, as a parent, I would only be gracious about you dating someone who's about that age (in comparison with your age) if I wanted you to get pregnant. Things happen whether you plan them or not. The heat of a moment changes everything - even 15 minutes of missing forethought and reason can mean 19 years of taking care of a child by someone who is not much out of being a child herself.

You are still young for a relationship, Relationships are more than just kissing each other and holding hands or watching movies together, its a premarital step. I would not allow my daughter (when i have one) to go out until she is at least 17

im 14, but i look much older and ive been told i have the maturity level of at least an 18 year old. my parents started dating when my mother was 14 and my dad 17. even now, my mom thinks its fine when i hang out with older guys, but she refuses to let me date until im 16. and my dad thinks im too young to even be looking at men...even though he was dating my mom (who was my age) when they first met.
the point is, we're mature, right? we're not idiots. if this guy isnt gonna push himself on you (and if he does, your not gonna give in) and if he respects what your parents say, then no one should have a problem.

It's not a problem at all. I go to a private high school and there are a bunch of couples who have 2 year age gaps, and some of them happen to be my friends. Just go along with it.

I'm not a parent.
I would allow it, however, I'd warn the little boy that if he tries any funny business I'll KNOW and will subsequently make is life VERY difficult if I find out he's taken advantage of my daughter.

u sound mature enough to take the responsability for yourself.
2 years is not that much and it's really good that u've talked about not having sex yet, I would wait until u both want it to lat forever, why not?just because everybody does it the sooner the better?be original!

My mom allowed me, Im 16 but when I was 15.. I was dating an 18 yr old but was 17 at the time, my mom didnt like him though .. so it didnt work out to well and I usually date older guys anyways ... when I was 15 I dated an 18 yr old but was turning 19 .. but its better to wait til ur older though ..
through experiences I've had quite a few bad ones.. u get... alot of players, guys who want u for sex, guys who lie,
and lots more... I think my moms right after all my experiences.. because the later u date... the more mature the guys are...
now thats not always true some guys mature earlier but... at this age alot of them treat u like crap.
i liked ... a 17 yr old.. he played me.. lead me on... U know told me what I wanted to hear
then there was this other guy who added to wanting to use me for sex ( but thank god I didnt have sex with him)
then there was another experience...(named justin whos 19 now) My other ex lied to me.. ,cheated on me
my other ex named john 17( cheated on me with my best friend)
my other ex richard 17 hes now 18( uhm... played with my emotions, ditched me for alcohol, wanted me for sex. treated me liek **** and cheated on me to top it off)
theres alot more.. Im just not gonna name them all thats a few examples... alot of guys are out there to play u, cheat on u, hurt u, use u for sex, abuse u,
Dont get me wrong girls do it just as much so Im not just... blaming the guys here... but
i dont trust anyone... It takes alot... to earn my trust cause I know guys really well... and girls as well... I've learned from experience... dont trust guys completely... because.. of all the things they do.. so it takes alot to convince me that they actually like me for me...
I actually changed... and.. decided to not care... about what I look like, go without make up... and see who would actually hit on me.. and play me for a test.
i TEnd to test guys alot... because otherwise.. I do get hurt.. so I try not to get attached.. which is smart...
