Getting a tattoo on your shoulder blade is no big deal. You feel it when he/she starts then before you know it it's all done. On a scale of 1-10(10worst pain ever) I would scale it as a 1 if not less..It's really not bad at all. Some say its like a massage type feeling which I can agree a little. But you can sit there and read a book while it's being done.
Hope this helps and happy tattooing!!

Considering the tattoo is reasonably small and it's on your sholder I would have to say it won't hurt too bad, the pain factor really depends on yourself but I have to say the sholder was the least painful place I've been tattooed so far (the other places being my wrists and calf) Not only do I have tatts I also have a bunch of piercings and I really have to say piercing hurts more, tattoo pain is longer persay, but A) the heal time is quick compaired to piercing and B) you're not getting completely stabbed through with anything just scrapped along your skin. So I would put the pain to be anywhere between a 3-5 depending on your pain factor, not exactly a relaxing feeling but NOT the most painful thing in the world or even close.
I hate the description "it's like a cat scratch" because I don't think it is like that at all...it's really more like someone takes a pin and pokes you with it then colors over it a few times with a ball point pen pressed down really hard. It sounds horrible but it's really not bad. The worse part is that the feeling last the entire time you're getting tattooed, it doesn't feel better the longer the tattooing goes on but then it's pretty much over once the needle stops, I hope this helped. Good luck!

I have a tattoo on my shoulder blade. It didnt hurt at all really. But I do honestly believe it depends on your own pain tolerance. I couldn't really feel her as she did the outline. And the shading didnt hurt until she got like right on my bone and it wasn't unbearable pain. I think its the noise of the gun and it rattling your bone that is more IRRITATING but not PAINFUL. The most I did was clinch my fists. And they dip the ink so much that by the time u get annoyed with the buzzing, the pain immediately leaves once they lift the needle from your skin to dip.
The most pain I felt, if you want to call it pain, was as I was leaving out. It had a sting to it. Kinda like when you get a little scratch then put alcohol on it. The pain was very minimal, and it felt more like a sore feeling than a pain feeling.
Definitely a nice spot to get it. I say do it!!

from personal experience it doesnt hurt. I got my first tattoo on my right shoulder blade of an orchid. You can feel the needle touch your skin but its not painful maybe irritating at times but i think a paper cut hurts more.

shoulder blades aren't a bad spot to tattoo. both of mine are tattooed. it's pretty middle of the road when it comes to pain. it hurts but it's not bad. judging by what you're describing as a pain scale... i'd say maybe 3 or 4.

there really is no comparison to the tattoo feeling. but i have been tattooed on both of my shoulders and it hurts because of the bone ( i have very bony shoulder blades) i would rate it between 3 and 7 depending on if it is outline or shading and how deep the tattoo is and if it is on bone or flesh.. but such a small tattoo won't hurt for long. good luck!

Never got a tattoo, so I wouldn't know. BUT pain is subjective, some people might say one when others think ten. It's kind of a tough question to word like this.

I have one in between my shoulder blades and he pain isn't that bad at all. Since yours will be small I think you can handle it.

the pain is a bit like a bad indian burn (for me anyways). It different for everyone because everyone has different pain tolerance levels.
