Scarlet - Good points. But the same can apply to Mexican immigrants as well. They are trying to invade us with illegal migration, just as our ancestors did. We replaced Native Americans, they are trying to replace us. What is the difference?

Lelani, it is easy to answer with emotions. Think about a scenario; if the illegal immigration continued and Mexicans persisted after say another 50 years and passed laws. Isn’t it similar to what you were talking about?

Decoy - that's what Mexians are trying to do now. Lack of 'illegal' term? Ask Native Americans and see what they think about it.

Our nation is made of people who agree to honor its laws and defend it. We are a nation of Americans.
Illegal aliens clearly do not hold our nation or laws in high regard. They retain their loyalty to a foreign nation and march in the streets expressing not only that loyalty but their determination to seize part of our nation under the control of their nation. That is an act of war.
We have the moral authority to only allow people to come into our nation if they will be loyal to this nation.

I don't think anyone has a moral authority. We aren't discussing morals.....it's the law we want enforced. Even if they want to bring the Bible in, which they have.....they can't use parts they want and toss out the parts they don't like. You either follow it or you don't. They pick out a couple of verses and forget the rest of the book. Even with just the 10 commandments they don't have a leg to stand on. No one is preventing legal immigration. It's just with all the illegal immigration being in such a mess we don't have the ability to sustain every person that wants to come here. There are limits to land and water and other resources in order to exist. So until some of these issues are settled there are people and I'm one who would like to see a TEMPORARY hold on new ones.
Going back and comparing life a few hundred years ago is useless. There weren't laws about immigration, they weren't sure the world was even round yet. We didn't have the masses of people. There were wars and injustices all over the world. Wars won and lost and unfair things done to everyone at one time or another. Point is we are here and now and what to do in order to move forward.

Our ancestors are the ones that PASSED the LAW on LEGAL IMMIGRATION! WE uphold that law. It wasn't passed just as a whimsy. There was REASON for it. WE need to KNOW how many people are coming here, who is coming into our country and their REASON for coming here. WE have the right to screen them for criminal activity, disease and intentions. Our ANCESTORS were immigrants, WE are NOT immigrants unless, WE personally, just came here and have not yet received our citizenship. In THAT case THAT person is not yet a CITIZEN. NATIVE AMERICANS have NOT been "replaced", they STILL EXIST!! Just not in the same numbers!! THAT was the PAST. WE NOW live in the 21st Century, today, 2006 going into 2007. WE have every legal authority to to prevent ANYONE from entering our country if WE have reason to. IT's OUR RIGHT!! It has NOTHING to do with morality or any lack thereof.
The FACT IS we have laws NOW. They, first of all, came here AGAINST laws on the books. THEY can't CHANGE it. They won;t be ALLOWED to be here for 50 years 'illegally' to change ANYTHING.

Here's THIS Native American's take on your stupid question..............
You are mixing the past, when there were no laws, with today when we have laws, and you're trying to say "IF" our laws change in the future those illegal invaders would somehow be like the immigrants that came here prior to immigration laws, and then, you try to make it a
* moral vs immoral act!!
Good GOD Woman, get some perspective!!
Past:
Native Americans didn't have laws. There were wars, treaties, some treaties broken, people died, our country began a 'government', laws were passed, one was on immigration, laws are enforced.
Present:
It has all to do with LAW not whether it is a moral thing or not. It IS morally correct to protect the LEGAL citizens from ruthless people, users and abusers of our system, from illegally entering our country by enforcing our LAWS.
Future:
If LEGAL citizens change any of those laws in the 'future', so be it.
Perspective:
Right now, today, we 'have' a law on immigration and we DEMAND it be enforced.

The United States of America is governed by laws (technically) created by us, the people. We obey the laws and for those who choose to break it, there are consequences.
Legal immigrants come into this country by the procedures set by this law. Illegal ones just come in breaking the law. They are not the same.
Yes, all of our ancestors except for American Indians were immigrants. But it happened when the country itself didn't even exist, didn't have a set of immigration laws, or were welcomed.
People who come in without proper documentations were breaking the laws we have. They have the rights to be treated well and equally under the law of the land. For them, the law says they need to be punished under the law, and sent back when appropriate.

It seems that the human race started out in one little area in Africa. So anybody that lives outside of that area is a migrant or a descendant thereof. The immigrants who came here centuries ago found and developed this land and made it what it is. The Americans do not need moral authority to call it there own, it is theirs at least for now and the foreseeable future. That is how nature works. We all struggle for the resources, taking them away from each other when we can, fighting to retain them when we can. Life will never be fair for everybody all the time.

Most so-called Native Americans were invaders too, displacing or exterminating previous tribes. So the Whites found a free-for-all and joined in, but, unlike all the other winners, the Whites build something instead of just going off on more wars immediately after victory.
There was never a country here, never a nation of the same people. So, to call these people anything, as if they were a united group, is a lie.

As every answer before me has said we have laws on the books. They need to be inforced strongly but now that the damnocrats have taken over even the boarder fence has been scraped and they want to make it easy to get here and obtain citizenship's I'am afraid they will open the boarders up and lay out the welcome mat.I live in a small town in the Midwest and you can not rent a place unless you are Mexican. To me and a lot of people this is WRONG WRONG.

The legal system of the USA is what dictates our laws. They are the laws that govern this nation and the laws that maintain justice. It is against the federal law to enter this nation without proper documentation. The morality of the law out weighs any so called emotional morality. Morality, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder,it changes from person to person. What may be moral to one ethic group may be an abomination and a blasphemy.to another. But the law doesn't have emotions,it is based in truth and fact and is applied equally to all.
Tell me what moral right do illegal aliens have to enter this nation in total disregard of its laws? The law doesn't single out any group of people. No where does it say they are the exception to the law.. They are guilty of a criminal act and to me that is not moral. We are not going to play with semantics here ,its illegal and therefor that makes it immoral to me.

True, but mine came here LEGALLY, that is the key word. Have you listened to some of them, they talk about taking THEIR country back. Like I have stated, I am FOR anyone wishing to be here LEGALLY, but if all they want is our money and way of life without being a citizen and the responsibilities that come with it, then EVERY American has a Moral right to be against it.
