Is it possibe to upgrade from Windows 98 to Windows XP and to do it online without having to go out and buy it?

If the machine is capable of running Windows XP you may upgrade. However to the best of my knowledge you will need the CD, you can't do it online.

You need to go to a store and buy the disk. Even if you could upgrade online, I would highly recommend _not_ doing it. Why? Because if your computer crashes and you have to reformat your drive after you installed it online, you're screwed.
