if you're just walking then any supportive trainer, but if you're planning on running then you should go for a lightweight running shoe. Any trainer will do though as not much strain is taken while walking. I have addidas and I run, I also walk in them and they're great.

Depends on your foot type and biomechanics.

The best thing to do is go to a shop that offers a wide selection, try on different pairs and walk in them for a good five minutes, and try jogging in them too (on the spot).

Make sure they have good shock absorbency, and that they have enough height around the toes to prevent any skinning.
I would recommend avoiding tagged heel cups to prevent any friction on your achilles tendon, and definitely get ones that feel like they're supporting your arches adequately.

Good luck with the exercise programme!

Yeah I agree with Jodie. Go to a shop which specialises in trainers / running shoes. They'll measure your feet and check that you've got the right pair - and they're less likely to rip you off with some fashion item.

I'd say any training shoes you feel most comfortable in - doesn't have to be a big brand name, just comfortable walking shoes.
