I have never read the book. However, I find it an interesting concept. I am going to get the book this week just to see what all the fuss is about. And I think the answer to your question is Why not! Who cares, who anyone is dating as long as they are happy. If God wanted everyone to date within their own race. He would have created only one race. All of us are of the human race. God bless****

Most black men suffer from an inferiority complex, they think by marrying another race (white, Indians or Chinese) they would get kids with straighter hair, a better nose and better feature. I'm not saying black women are not beautiful. This goes back since slavery, when the house slaves were considered better than those who work in the fields. Eventually the Masters would end up getting the house slaves pregnant, and this yield an new category of slaves called mulattoes. The slaves considered himself above others if he becomes friendly with mulattoes.

I think that its because for the longest time it wasn't acceptable for black males to even look at a woman of another race. But now its more widely accepted and since you do see it more often, more people are considering it. Its becoming more of a universal love thing and I like it. I have a sister that has a black husband and they have the best marriage I've seen.

I have not read the book but Im white and my boyfriend is black. His mother is prejiduce so I have never met her and she gives him a hard time for not dating a girl. Hello? It all comes from the heart. We all bleed the same... ya know? I may not be able to be with the person who I really care about because of prejiduce and vise versa on his part, but I respect his mothers ideals. We have been going out for over three years but the pressure is beginning to wear on both of us. Old school people need to evolve.

Most black men can't control their black woman like they want her to be. She usually is the dominant in the relationship and doesn't answer to anyone even her husband. Black men simply want control and if that means marrying a woman outside of your race they'll do it.

Aren't men and women of all races dating more outside their race now then before? I don't think it is just one race/gender doing it.
Interracial dating is not as taboo as it once was.
I think people probably always found other races attractive but because of social taboos didn't pursue them whereas now their offspring who have those same attractions are pursuing them.

Because they can.
Because a tiny bit more melanin in the skin should have little effect on love.
Would you be asking this question if it were eye color, which has more extreme genetic differences than skin color.
Why are brown eyed men dating blue eyed girls?
