well, obese according to the IBM chart. So I wanna lose close to 40 pounds. Could a lot of crunches help me? How many cruches (plus eating right) should I do to shed this unwanted body fat?

No, but crunches will tighten your abs and help your posture. To lose that much weight, you have to put in some SERIOUS miles (running, swimming, biking) and build your major muscle groups (especially your thighs). The more muscle mass you have, the more weight you'll lose. Good luck!

You can crunch all day long, but if you still have fat laying over your ab muscles, no one will be able to tell.

Cardio, cardio, cardio is key. Walk at first, and if you can handle that, then run. You can bike, swim, any type of exercise will really help you see results.

Once you start to shed some pounds, you can add some weight lifting to help build muscle, which will boost your metabolism, helping you shed more pounds.

Just be patient! And don't give up.

Well they actually build up a six pack. But basically your abdominals are covered with fat and no matter how many crunches you will do you wont be able to see the six pack. You have to do aerobic exercise to shed enough stomach fat to see your six pack. Thats what i did.. I used to do so many crunches until someone told me to do running, joggin, skipping etc good luck

ok not really....they'll help u get toned...but not lose weight. u have to overload yourself like go walking then do crunches. If u only work out ur abs then the rest of ur body will stay the same, so yea u have to do a whole body work out (aka jogging walking swimming anything) to burn all those calories and remember 1lb of fat is 3500 cals
