Senator Biden Tells Bush NO MORE TROOPS FOR IRAQ!
Quote

[link to news.yahoo.com]

WASHINGTON - Incoming Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Joseph Biden, a potential Democratic presidential candidate, said Tuesday he would oppose any effort by President Bush to increase U.S troops in Iraq as part of a new war strategy.

Biden also announced he has summoned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to testify before his committee next month to discuss the administration's new plan for Iraq as soon as it is made public.

The Delaware Democrat took advantage of a quiet holiday week to draw attention to his own proposal for Iraq, which includes beginning a drawdown of U.S. forces and finding a political settlement among the various ethnic factions there

Who says more troops isn't the answer? Anybody ever stop to think we tried to do this on the cheap - and are paying the price?

We never sealed the borders (and are getting terrorists from all over the world coming in to Iraq - and bringing new technologies with them). We never declared martial law and had enough troops to enforce it. We never removed Maktar al-Sadr or his illegal militia. We never cleared complete areas - only small pockets at a time - and the bad guys ran to the uncleared areas to come back and hit us another day. Why can't we stop IEDs - because we don't have enough people watching the roads - you know anti-ambush patrols.

We didn't send enough troops (it wouldn't have sat well with the American people).

In for a penny, in for a pound....double the troop strength, clear an area - and keep it cleared while moving to the next area. Seal the borders and check everything and everybody coming in or going out. Train and equip the Iraqis and hold them accountable for their own security.

I think Joe Biden went off his meds, again. Every time he does that he starts wandering out into left field. If the administration has a significant game plan to finally kick some significant @ss in Iraq, then I say go for it. This time, give them the troops they need to get the job done. The last thing the war effort, the American people, the generals, and the troops on the ground need is another goddamn politician trying to second guess the strategy they plan on using to defeat this enemy. Especially a retread from the physco bin like Biden, who should not have security clearance in this first place, given his past mental history.

Biden's a fool...
But I'm about ready to just write Iraq off, too. If I were Bush, I'd just say: OK..we tried to free you Iraqis and set up a democratic nation for you...but you won't hold up your end of the bargain, and fall back into those petty tribal wars you've always fought. So screw ya...you're not worth another taxpayer nickel or another American life.
And then I'd arm the Kurds...tell them that whatever they take of that country they can keep. In six months, every damn Iraqi would either be dead or woulda hauled *ss outa there. The Kurds would have their new Kurdistan, a country very friendly to the US (which also happens to have a lot of oil).

I thought they were saying YES to "no more troops for Iraq." Democrats saying NO to no more troops for Iraq would be a double negative, and thus would be an affirmation to the cause of sending more troops to Iraq.

Since it is common knowledge that the majority of Democrats have no clear understanding of the future implications of the Iraqi conflict, I must assume you meant Democrats are saying YES to "no more troops for Iraq." This sounds like yet another misinformed bad idea from yet another ignorant Democrat.

How honestly anybody forgets the Senate and Congress race of 2006. That became the very platform they ran on too. human beings wanted a huge replace. all of us have been provided that sizable replace, My own opinion is, It became no longer for the greater effective. i myself and somewhat have faith it somewhat is yet another certainly one of those, tell the individuals what they desire to hearken to. i be attentive to I sound cynical yet have a glance on the Maryland governor's checklist and you will see why i'm like this. He delivered replace!!! each and each individual in Maryland is hurting because of the fact of his super replace. Now we are residing off of replace, pennies, whilst he helps Hillary Clinton. He extremely enjoyed his fishing holiday yet did no longer like it whilst the Polar undergo society, a non-earnings team booed him so badly he could no longer be heard.

Whether the U.S likes it or not I think that the troops are going to have to stay.I mean sure the Democrats don't want troops to die but the U.S invaded and caused the whole mess and they are going to have to clean it up.Or else the world is going to be really pissed off.

What intrigues me is that they are once again being OBSTRUCTIONISTS, hoping the public will forget that they promised to have their own plan for success in Iraq that has not yet materialized.

According to Geneva Convention, we can only pull out our troops when the Iraqi government is prepared to handle internal security and national defense. That is why we are training their people at a very rapid pace. Democrats don't seem to care much for Geneva Conventions...

First off, on November 7, 2006, the MAJORITY of the American population clearly stated that we want OUT of Iraq and that we DO NOT LOVE, LIKE OR RESPECT President Bush.

What cracks me up is that the NEOCONS did not get it as they have now changed the message to "People voted on Nov 7 for the President to investigate other options with Iraq."

I hate to break the news to you NEOCON Bush Supporters, but we did not say we wanted to see any Iraq war alternatives, we said, in a very loud scream, that WE WANT OUT OF IRAQ.

NO MORE TROOPS is EXACTLY what WE, THE MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE, SAID on November 7, 2006. So stop twisting it and get to packing up. Our sons and daughters are coming home.
