You need to see a doctor and ask for a oral medication called Diflucan 150mg. It is one pill that you take by mouth and it should knock out the infection. If not, you may need to take another dose of one pill 3-4 days after the first one. You can easily pass yeast from person to person, but there is usually an underlying cause for the infection. If you are immunocompromised, have just finished a round of strong antibiotic, or wear some form of oral appliance you will be prone to catching a yeast infection. You just need to figure out how you got it so that you can avoid getting it again. Good-luck!

I'm a dentist.

The yeast infection to which you refer is very likely caused by Candida albicans, a fungus that normally resides in all of our mouths. So no, you cannot pass it on that way because chances are anyone coming into contact with you already has it in their mouths.

Under normal circumstances (e.g. a funtioning immune system and presence of adequate numbers of bacteria competing for resources in the oral environment), C. albicans does not cause infections. Under certain conditions, however, it does. First and foremost, you need to find out why you have this fungal infection.

Are you taking any antibiotics? Are you on any sort of systemic steroids for asthma or other health issues? Are you using any steroid creams or gels in your mouth? Are you diabetic, or have any other health condition that has compromised your immune system? You can see where I'm going with this.

Your dentist or physician can prescribe you a variety of medications to treat your condition (Diflucan being one of them). Mycelex lozenges can also be prescribed, among other things. Doctor's preference, really.

But if you want a simple fix, eat yogurt! Yes, yogurt. It has live bacteria (e.g. Lactobacillus acidophilus) that, when introduced into your mouth, compete with the fungi and severely reduce their populations. In all honesty, though, it takes more than one "dose" of yogurt.

That's strange the only time I've heard of something like that is if it's systemic, or opportunistic. Maybe you have an underlying infection that's lowering your immune system? was the prescription anti-biotic? If not, I would suggest asking your doctor about some, because if it's systemic (meaning in multiple areas of your body, not always visible btw) it will treat it, and if your more susceptible due to another bacterial affliction, it will kill that too. Good Luck! PS: I would not be kissing anyone for a while!
