Is it true that when you have your lights on at night when you sleep, you're only half asleep? I've heard something about your biological clock gets thrown off while you sleep with your lights on.

No, it's not really true. You can sleep just fine in lighted conditions if you're sleepy enough. If you're not particularly sleepy, it may be hard to *fall* asleep in a lit room, but once you're asleep, you'll sleep just fine.

In very young children, there is some evidence that nearsightedness may be aggravated by even a dimly lit room at night -- but this doesn't apply to adults.
