I have had long hair for most of my life and am finally ready to get rid of it! It's thick, black, and wavy (I straighten it, but I would prefer a style where I would not have to do this), and it tends to frizz. I'm looking for something cute, short, and low-maintenance; I don't have bangs, but I'd be willing to get them. I also have a round face and don't really want to draw attention to that. Thanks!

With your face style i think a bob would be great. Try the look where.. your the back of your hair is slightly shorter then the front. So your hair is going in a diangle way.. from the back is shorter and the front is longer. It gives a sleek look. IF your not sure what im talking about.. Remember that movie.. Aeon Flux.. Charlize T's hair cut.. exactly like that. It kind of covers your face a bit if you have a really round face.

Try getting a layered cut where the layers are shorter in the back than in the front. It will help cut down on frizz, you will be able to wear it wavy for a carefree look or straighten it for a more demure look, and the longer length in the front will help to hide the roundness of your face.

My friend had really thick hair with tight curls. She cut it all off to about 4 inches streched out then wore it curly. It looked great and totally different from the straight look she sported forever. When she straightened it wasn't as cute, but if she did big curls that worked better.

Being a man I always have my hair cut short. I use one of those saftey combs with a razor blade in. It cuts it really short I think they call it a number one. I think women could have the same if they feel they can. Many celebrities have their hair short like sinead.

I guess my answer is not the best but I hope it helps
Good luck
