I actually am unaware of a law in Christianity against marrying a cousin. The Bible itself does not forbid this, and tells of many cousin-marriages among the patriarchs.
Of course, modern-day Christians don't usually marry their cousins - at least not in my country (USA). It may very well be that in other countries, they do, however.
In ancient Zoroastrianism, there was great merit in marrying a close relative - even brothers and sisters! I'm not sure why this was considered a great thing, but apparently it was considered very righteous. I am not aware if this still goes on among Zoroastrians. I'm sure that brother-sister marriages do not continue, because of the laws where they live today (mostly India and Iran). But perhaps cousin-marriage does occur. I'm not sure of the laws in those lands regarding cousin-marriage. Perhaps they allow distant cousin marriages.

I don't think it's an issue in religion in general. Christians may say it's a law, but it's not one in the Bible. Many married cousins. Abraham was married to his half-sister. It's more of a an issue within society.

I don't think this has anything to do with Christians. I think this situation is per state, and some states DO allow cousins as close as first cousins to marry and some do NOT. South Carolina does not allow marriage between relatives, but Georgia will. My friend in high school married her first cousin as a marriage of convenience, and they had to go to Ga. to marry.

Yes, it's normal in other cultures to marry cousins. I don't know about a law by christians, but the US law will not allow it!

I just read this. There is an ancient and rarely practiced law in Japan that states cousins can marry to carry on a head of household. Very vauge, but it was there. AS I said, very rarely practiced now

The "law" of which you speak is a very old one, deriving from the ancient observation that those who married people in close familial relationships tended to produce children with birth defects.

The Kingston Clan (an arguably fundamental and wayward Mormon sect) believes you should only marry relatives to keep the blood-line pure.
