Some examples are George W. Bush and Osama bin Laden. Other examples are ordinary people who are heavy on the Jesus, light on the non-judgement.

Fanatics of any group are the most dangerous. They're the ones who want to remake the world in their dogmatic image...regardless of how wildly inaccurate or impossible it is. Bush, bin Ladin, Popoff, Falwell, Army of God, Robertson, Phelps, DeLay, Aryan Nation, Swaggart, Bakker, Taliban, LaHaye, Hovind, Focus on the Family, Behe, Dobson...all from the same mold.

All Leaders from the beginning of time have used a "God" or Rules of a "God" to manipulate the masses, to Justify their actions.

seems to me...Moses went to the mountain and returned with commandments from "HIS" God, and from then on he led the people through "HIS" Gods words and direction. If any Leader is questioned...their actions are always justified by "God", whom ever that "God" is.

You'd be hard pressed to find ANY Leader, that hasn't used a "God" as a mass manipulation tool.

So....with the "Common" (ordinary person) manipulator, the same applies. If a person can't stand on their own Merritt's as trust worthy or free thinking..."Watch out"

This is a deep subject where a simple answer won't do. Of course we need to watch out for delusional people. Because they are delusional.

Two excellent books I would recommend on the subject are cited below. If you're not a big reader, here's an easy website to check out:

Religion IS something that should be shown thru the way we live our lives AS WELL AS shared verbally.
Many people don't live as they should and they are aware of this failing, so they try to make up for the lack in living faithfully by voicing their religioun to the point of being boisterant and arogant.
That is unfortunate but true.

it depends on what kind of religious be it of any religion....it is not right for us classify all muslims in one category or any religion for the matter.....i highly disagree with islam (watch how many thimbs downs i get for that) but not without having actually known enough about it...but at the same time i have friends who are muslim and they are great great people only their beliefs somewhat deviate from mine...but i can never see myself getting along with a fundamentalist first off because they would shoot me for my radical thought.
but it would be wrong to watch out for someone based on their religion....remember most people are the result of their entire society not just one element that is religion..and the ones that are you will immediately be able to tell.

fundamentalism usually results in a narrowminded approach which is completely fully nonprogressive...no reasoning and no interpretation is applied to the religon...only followed word for word and taken to be god's word (the biggest mistake humans make)
those people we won't have to watch out for because their actions will speak for themselves.

One does not need to be religious to walk away from someone who does not know which end is up.

It doesn't matter what people "claim", it's what's in their hearts that counts. It's how they treat their fellow man that's important. A true Christian is heavy on God, and heavy on non-judgment.

I think that you answered you own question. In a nutshell, if you "claim" to be religious, or you "are" religious-----two completely different things. Be wise enough to tell the difference between serving God, and lip-service.

PERSONALLY, i am a christian, i am not one you need to look out ofr... we still make mistakes like everyone else, we DO NOT BY ANY MEANS CLAIM TO BE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE we just have God to ask forgivness of when we mess up... and help when we get ourselves into a mess. =]

Because the conceit that they are doing God's will gives them cover. They can then do ungodly things without any qualms from their warped consciences.
