how to get to Berlin-Tegel airport from Ostbahnhof railway station?

Question

I've found a Expressbus to Tegel from Alexanderplatz square but it is really far from Ostbahnhof railway station. How can I get to Berlin-Tegel?

Best and fastest way (from my own personal experience).

1) Take the S-bahn from Ostbahnhof to Hauptbahnhof and then get on the TXL express bus directly in front of Hauptbahnhof.

OR

2) Take the S-bahn to Zoo Garten and then take the U9 North all the way to the last station. Get off and catch the TXL express bus from there... by this point you are much closer to Tegel so the bus ride will not be nearly as long.

3) If all else fails, "taxi!"
