Their family members "playfully" refer to their girlfriend as "daughter in law"? (I said it once too, and he said it didnt bother him when I asked if it did- I wanted to slap myself after syaing it cause I dindt know if he'd like me joking that way and I dont wanna "scare" him) His mom and grandma were saying this all Christmas weekend long, and it's not the first time its happened. I dont think he heard it, but honestly I was flattered. I know they like me A LOT, and they think I'm a positve influence on him so maybe its wishful thinking that we'll marry one day. (I hope so too.) Does this make guys feel weird or have any girls gone through this? What do you think about them liking me so much to already consider me part of the fam? Dont get me wrong- I'm NOT complaining cause it makes me feel good that they think so highly of me, I just dont want him to feel weird about it.

Oh no, actually that makes them feel more comfortable because that is showing him that your family is accepting the girl. My twin has a girlfriend and everyone calls her the in-law of the family because we all love her as if they were married.

I don't think this makes guys feel " uncomfortable " I think they just feel a little bit of pressure about staying with that girl because they're afraid to let down their family members now that they know how much their family likes their girlfriend. My mom used to use say that about one of old guy friends, she used to refer to him as her son-in-law and it would drive me crazy!

I know my boyfriend likes it. I know exactly how you feel! Just today he called saying that we're going to go out, watch a movie, and meet his GRANDPARENTs.i was like.. whhaaat? But his dad gives me more hugs than he gives his own son and his mom is just the sweetest lady. i feel so comfortable and welcome. I think my boyfriend likes it because he considers me as someone that is as close to him as family. but.. if anything I feel uncomfortable because i feel like im dating the family--not just him.
